Community Mandala Collage

Teach, explore, celebrate and honor who and what makes up your community. Create vibrant art that’s fun for all ages, exercise fine motor skills, critical thinking, creativity and imagination!

This is the workshop that launched Community Mandala Project in 2004 when The Bushnell of Hartford needed a vibrant art program to teach aspects of ‘community’ to second graders via their PARTNERS program with area schools and they asked Donna (founder of CMP) to design such a workshop.

The workshop explores and celebrates who and what makes up our communities, families, neighborhoods and great American small towns. Each ring of the mandala uses a different creative art technique. Students love the variety of creative expression they get to experience, and they say the whole project is fun! Adults found it fun too, and this led Gentile to develop the Thriver Mandala Collage and Memorial Mandala Collage.

Participants leave with a 12″ x 12″ colorful representation of their unique community, a treasured experience and an expanded understanding and appreciation for people and things that make up their world.

This and other workshops are being packaged for download so you can bring fun, healing and empowering experiences to your group or event. Please contact for inquiries and quote. Thank you!

Originally designed to teach concepts of community to second graders, this workshop has been expanded to serve other purposes. The Thriver Community Mandala Collage helps victims take back their power, heal and thrive after abuse. The Memorial Mandala helps people explore and process grief, celebrate the life of a loved one who has passed, and honor their memories.

The workshop can be customized for your unique needs. Contact Donna to discuss and get an estimate.
